Family/Friend Reunion
> 100% Authentique et Simple!
Imagine what a large family reunion feels like:
Philippe, your private tour guide, has provided great background & cultural insight on the towns of St Jean de Luz & Bayonne; you first meet him over a nice apéritif at your home to get a feel for the region. Now you can go back many times and explore on your own with ease and insight.
Véronique, a home chef, comes a few times to cook & clean two reasonably priced dinners on a single visit; everyone gets to relax at home!
Alain, a French chef with an international career, organizes a festive cooking party following an outing to the market for the food buffs among your travel party
The adults indulge in the culinary wonders of a Michelin-starred restaurant while the children are at home, being looked after by Florence, a local baby-sitter. Evelyne, your local host has secured dinner reservations well in advance for you.
Last night was so much fun dancing among the French people at the main square; the kids were in heaven engaged in giant confetti fights while the older generation was watching the whole scene from
caf
é
de la Baleine.
Bedtime was late to say the least but the energy on the square and nearby streets was amazing!
Today, the cars are all being used by other members of the family or you do not feel like driving. This is when Serge, a bilingual chauffeur, steps in with his Mercedes mini-van, and shares his favourite routes and local insight for half days or full days
Michel, a mountain guide takes the kids and their parents for a scenic mountain hike nearby with fun stops and cultural content for all ages. You might stop on the Spanish border at one of the mountain inns, called venta, to recharge over some casual fare.
Today was a family surfing workshop. The kids loved it. Tomorrow Vincent at the surf shop will pick them up and bring them home in his van for some more fun in the waves while the parents indulge in downtime.
Cédric, a bilingual golf pro and former French champion, is coaching this AM the golfers in your group at the Ilbarritz international training center overlooking the ocean. Because his other passion is gastronomy, he has arranged to lead the group in the evening into the streets of nearby San Sebastian in Spain for Basque tapas, called pinxos, and some Rioja & Navarra wines
The fridge is looking empty. Your local host can arrange for another drop off of fresh groceries so you get that family tennis tournament going instead of wasting time shopping.
Anne-Marie & her counsellors have welcomed the kids at the beach club for some group games and swims; time to settle into another good book...
The rented bikes come in handy as many of you operate on different schedules and have different hobbies
Some of you loved the yoga class at home with Isabelle. You now look forward to the thalassotherapy treatments, a local spa specialty that your local host has arranged for you
Evelyne is accompanying you along the
Route Gourmande
to meet with farmers and specialty food producers. On the menu you will sample different foods, laugh in French as you converse with the small business owners with the help of your host
You have tickets to the upcoming Cesta Punta pelota game this Friday. Some of you also get to play the game next week as you have a former pelota champion ready & booked to initiate your party to this Basque sport. Some of you might opt for Basque dance class instead so you can join in at the next town party on the main square....aaaaaah ...
Discover the Basque in you.
..
Since you are already in the Southwest of France, eight of you plan to explore the Nearby regions after your stay at the villa. One option you are looking at is a 3 day adventure in a 4X4 vehicle crossing the Pyr
énées through old smugglers dirt paths. You then proceed into the Bardenas desert in Spain for a total contrast of landscape. On your last day you explore prestigious bodegas of the Rioja wine region. A blast!
