Evelyne’s Hosted Trips

Small Groups 2 Small Groups 3

On my menu for 2012, THREE distinct small group experiences I look forward to organizing and hosting in Southwest France:

1) A family trip where French content matters - June 22 to July 7, 2012
This trip is geared at families whose children learn IN French back home, and who would like them more immersed in French while enjoying great family time in France. Enjoy the privacy of your own vacation home, the independence of your own car and lots of free time . For parts of the 2 week period, join a small group of other families with similar linguistic goals for a variety of cultural experiences. Such experiences are child & youth focused in French, or adult or family focused in both French and English with both pleasures and costs to be shared. Expect rich content and a true immersion where French living is at its best, and where French families love to relax.

2) Youth biking trip along the Aquitaine coast, for 14yr olds and up – July 23 – 28, 2012
Calling all youth keen to improve their French while having fun! The trip is scheduled and structured in such a way that the French immersion experience can be extended into a 2 or 3wk linguistic stay in Biarritz, prior to or after the biking adventure . This 6 day trip showcases the beauty and contrasts of the coastline while biking through what is called the “Californian” coast of Europe. Biking is on flat dedicated cycling paths, set between ocean facing sand dunes and forests as well as in Bordeaux, travelling between 10 to 35km a day. The laid back holiday pace and setting along the coast is bound to please the younger crowd who gets tired of old buildings after awhile, although the initial arrival in majestic Bordeaux lets travelers explore wonderful architecture and rich history. Stops along the way include Bordeaux, Arcachon & Dune du Pila, Moliets, Hossegor/Capbreton with a wrap up in Biarritz. Accommodations are in campgrounds by the beach and in a hostel in Bordeaux, with local transportation by bike and train . Minimum/Maximum group size : 8/16 students.

3) Southwest France living for golfers and their non golfing friends – October 10 – 23, 2012
Inspired by the 2011 success story of 24 travelers from Ladies Golf Club of Toronto ( check out the testimonial video! ), this trip is geared to couples and women, who love their golf or who are non-golfing friends or partners. Head for the Southwest of France, Bordeaux & Dordogne region, then relax by the French Basque coast immersing yourself in the French, Basque and Spanish cultures in a local mansion. Pretend you live there and enjoy French living at its best while making time to golf ( non golfers have additional options to pursue when golfers are on the greens) . For details on golfing in the region, check the Trip for Golfers page. The trip outline will be set and posted once a partnership with a golf club or professional association is finalized. For now refer to the 2011 itinerary of our last October trip for reference purposes . Feel free to contact Evelyne to be proactively kept in the loop on the 2012 itinerary.
