French Summer Camps

As a francophone mother living the majority of the year in English speaking Ontario (Canada), raising bilingual children has been important to our family. Friends who noticed my commitment to bilingual education identified a need for quality French summer camps in Toronto, and suggested I would be good at it. I went for it! Therefore, since 2003, I spend half of the summer in Southwest France and then move back to Canada to run summer French camps for children with a strong competency in the language.

For Summer 2012, while based in Southwest France, I will be organizing and hosting two new French immersion travel concepts:
a) a new youth biking trip for 14yr old and up along the Aquitaine coast
b) a  small group family trip for like minded families from French immersion or francophone school communities looking for enriched French content while vacationing in a family favourite part of France.

With respect to French camps in Canada, the dates are now set for 2012 with respect to the Toronto day camp ( full program to be released by March 10) while the registration is opened for the trip to Quebec City & region.

1 week trip to Quebec City & region (from Toronto)
August 6 to 10 /2012

10 to 14 yr old students (Grade 5 to 8), from French Immersion & Francophone schools, travel from Toronto to Quebec City and its region, for a week of interactive explorations in French with local experts. The novelty of this camp is to be immersed in the evenings, as part of a small peer group, into the family life  of local hosts. This will not be your regular school trip! MORE INFO…

Camp Baby Point en Français:
a day camp in Toronto’s West EndFrench Summer Camps 2nd Section
August 20-24 & August 27-31 /2012

A 1 or 2 week Summer camp experience in French for 6 to 10yr old children, from French Immersion & Francophone schools.  Each week, we explore a different theme that guides our exploration through multiple forms of learnings and artistic expressions. On our menu last summer 2011, we had the World of Astérix & Obélix ( famous French comic book characters) in week 1 ; in week 2, we followed with Etienne Brûlé’s footsteps as we explored the lives of the 1st Francophones in Toronto in the 16/17th centuries.  The 2012 Summer brochure will be on-line by March 10/2012 when registration will open; it will have new themes but a similar philosophy to previous years.  Last year brochures are viewable below for reference purpose until the 2012 info is released.
