BMA Biarritz is Expérience Authentique’ s partner in Biarritz for linguistic stays, with à-la-carte activities. Expérience Authentique represents BMA in North America and coordinates all services.  Full detailed costs and program descriptions are available on the  BMA web site. There are several language schools in Biarritz, some of them present only for the two key summer months.  BMA stands out for its long term commitment to the linguistic experience. In operation since 1987,  BMA offers its programs for a good part of the year, and has established strong long-term  relationships with FLE (French Foreign Language)  teachers and host families.   Here are the highlights of the program:

  • Minimum of a 2 week stay, 3 weeks recommended
  • Small group French classes in the AM, organized in 6 levels. Students are taught by various teachers each morning to work on different and complementary goals
  • Optional age appropriate activities in French, in the PM: cultural outings, surfing classes, or various sport actvities
  • Accommodation options: homestay with a local host for optimal immersion, rental of apartment or villa, or B&B stay coordinated by Expérience Authentique

Students age 13 to 17 follow the JUNIOR program, 13 -yr old need to have a parent/guardian staying with them during their stay in France. The ADULT program is for age 18 and up, with a separate 18-25yr old student group when enrollment permits. Both teenagers & parents can also learn  French among their respective peers in nearby facilities and reconnect as a family in the afternoon or evening.

Estimated cost per student per week:

360 euros/wk for 12 French lessons a week (3 lessons per AM, on M/T/Th/F) & cultural/sport activities in the PM
or
400 euros/wk for 16 French lessons a week (4 lessons per AM on M/T/Th/F) & cultural/sport activities in the PM
or
440 euros/wk for 20 French lessons a week ( intense program, 4 lessons per AM on M/T/W/Th/F) & cultural/sport activities in the PM
+
Additional cost for  surfing ( scheduled on afternoons in lieu of cultural/sport activities): 90 euros/wk
+
Optional homestay: add 260 euros/wk

Private language classes are also available, in a traditional classroom format but also in a real life situation format where your teacher moves the class to places and activities you enjoy: market, museum, café, restaurant, any site where you practice your favorite sport etc…
